商代晚期铸造技术有更进一步的发展,如司母戊方鼎的鼎身和四足是整体铸造的,鼎耳则是在鼎身铸成后再在其上安模、翻范、浇铸而成,根
据其体积和重量估计,所需金属料当在1000公斤以上,冶铸时必须有较大的熔铜炉,且有可能采用经地槽流注的方法进行浇铸。
商代晚期还发展了铜镶玉的技术,例如妇好墓出土的玉援铜戈即是将玉戈援纳入铜内的陶范中铸成。藁城等地发现的铁刃铜钺也是采用这种技术铸成的。铭文 商代早期和中期的铜器上至今未见铭文

古代炊器,多用青铜铸成。相当于现代的锅,煮或盛鱼肉用。汉许慎《说文解字》:“鼎,三足、两耳,和五味之宝器也。象析木以炊。”《玉篇》:“鼎,所以熟食器也”。一般鼎的形状多是体圆、腹大、两耳对立于口上,下有三足。大腹以容物,三足架空以燃火,两耳用以贯铉(又作扁,其状类木棍)便于抬举。传世大鼎有高三尺多的;有不逾四寸的。鼎的形制因时代而异。商代前期多圆腹尖足,也有柱足方鼎和扁足鼎。商代后期,圆腹柱足鼎占多数,同时分裆鼎增多,尖足鼎逐渐消失。西周后期,扁足鼎和方鼎基本消失,鼎足多呈蹄形。战国鼎多敛口,皆有盖,附耳,普通的鼎腹作西瓜形,足渐短小,盖上伏三犠,或作三环。秦汉鼎多敛口、硕腹、附耳、三短足、均有盖,盖上有三环。这时期未见有绝大的鼎,传世的大半约高一尺许。
铸铜鼎雕塑生产厂是从陶制的三足鼎演变而来的,用来烹煮食物,后主要用于祭祀和宴享,是商周时期重要的礼器之一。这件鼎为商代后期制品,至今器底仍保存有烟复。整体装饰繁杂、精细,圆润的鼎身配以圆涡纹、风鸟纹、蝉纹等纹样,造型和装饰协调自然,堪称商代铜鼎中的佳作。

铸铜鼎雕塑生产厂,是商王 祖庚或祖甲为祭祀母亲戊而作的祭器,是中国商周时期青铜器的代表作,原称“司母戊鼎”或“司母戊大方鼎”。出土于河南安阳,现收藏于中国***博物馆。是中国***一级。重832.84公斤,是世界迄今出土重的青铜器,享誉“镇国之宝”。后母戊鼎通体高133厘米、长112厘米、口宽79.2厘米,重达832.84公斤,是已发现的中国古代重的单体青铜礼器,因鼎腹内壁上铸有“后母戊”三个字而得名后母戊鼎。发现于1939年,1959年开始作为镇馆之宝收藏于***博物馆。
