Appearance: Yellow to light tan powder, h***ing an odor suggestive of cereals. Is hygroscopic, and is affected by long exposure to light, heat, and air.
Solubility: Slightly to sparingly soluble in methanol, in n-propyl alcohol, and in n-butyl alcohol; practically insoluble in water and in alcohol; insoluble in chloroform, in ether, and in benzene.

Ratio: the ratio (A 230/A 279(sh)) is between 0.90--- 1.25
pH: 6.0 --8.0, in 3% aqueous suspension.
Loss on drying: 5.0% max
